Before I start just want to mention that I figured out what was wrong with my computer.  There was a lot of dust that had collected in the back vent that the fan blows air out of.  And once we'd removed the back and side of the tower, there was a lot of dust inside as well.  Video card seems to be busted, too. I'm starting to think that there is something wrong with my video card itself.  After all seemed right once I installed that other video driver, I decided to see if there would be any problems playing video. I think my computer is working again!!!!

I did some internet searching at work and found an article with a "quick fix" for my problem.  It also had a bunch of comments from other users, some of whom found the fix successful, and some who didn't but offered their own methods to resolve it.  Well, I tried the article' ( Read more... )
